The Best Cookies Evah

"Oh what a beautiful morning, oh what a beautiful day........." Oh! Hello, didn't see you there! *cough* I was just, well--never mind. Anyways, hi!:) I'm back with a scrumptious recipe for you! Found on--Pinterest! (duh, what else? do people actually look through cook books anymore? I just go to Pinterest:) Before we get to that, I was thinking. Do you think I should turn my other blog, Picture This By Emma, into a photo AND recipe blog?? Or would you rather I keep it on here?? Please tell me your opinion!! Now, onto the recipe! (source::ohbiteit.com) Coffee Cake Cookies. She had used Pillsbury Sugar Cookie dough--the pre-made stuff, but I used my grandmother's *awesome* recipe for Chocolate Chip cookies--just without the chips:) But if you want to try them, just follow the cookie recipe and add one cup of chocolate chips.

You will need:::

Cookie:
2 1/4 cups of flour
1 teaspoon of baking soda
1 teaspoon of salt
1 cup of shortening
3/4 cup of sugar
3/4 cup of brown sugar
1 teaspoon of vanilla
1/2 teaspoon of water
2 eggs

Crumble:
1/2 cup of brown sugar
1/2 cup of flour
1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
4 Tbsp. soft butter

Glaze
1/2 cup of brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon of water
2 teaspoons of vanilla

Sift together flour, baking soda and salt

In a mixing bowl, cream together shortening, sugars, vanilla and water

Add the eggs

Gradually add the flour mixture and beat until combined

Combine the flour, sugar, cinnamon and butter and stir until
it is the consistency of sand

Preheat the oven to 375. Plop the tablespoon sized cookies
onto a greased baking sheet or use one of those rubber
sheet thing-ys:)

Bake the cookies for 5 minutes, then remove them and sprinkle
the crumble on top. Put them back in and back for 4 more
minutes or until golden brown

Combine the sugar, vanilla and water to make the glaze

Drizzle the glaze over the warm cookies

Warning: these cookies require a TALL glass of milk.

Enjoy!

Thanks for looking at my blog!

Emma
