Jean's Sleepover!

Hi guys! Remember Jean-the girl who's blog I recommended? Well, she had a sleepover this Friday and invited Anna, me and Madison-another friend. We got to their house around five and we played games on the Wii and stuff and then Madison came and we played more. And we went sledding in the dark! Mr. Andy-Jean's dad-gave us sparklers and candles and we went sledding! Here are some pictures.......

That's Jean on the right and Madison

We also had a small flashlight.

Jean's mom-Wieni-(they're from Indonesia) works at a nail salon and so we waited for her to come home with the pizza! Then, we had pizza, chicken wings and chocolate milk. Then Jean opened presents! Then we had Mint Oreo ice cream while watching AFV-then, Mrs. Syafarudin did our nails!! Here are the pictures............

Madison's nails are first-pink zebra stripes!

Then Anna-blue and purple zebra striped!

Jean didn't want hers done-she tried on her new fake nails instead!
And then the bottom ones are mine-green background with white flowers!

Then, we played Just Dance 4 and talked and talked and talked! The next morning, we took a walk!
This first picture is the icicles on the bridge we went to. Then, there is the brook. The third one is the whole space where we were. Then going from left to right-Jean, Anna and Madison. Then again from left to right, Madison, Jean and Anna. And then the funky shadow photo:)

I'll be back soon with another post of pictures of Jean's house and photos of Jean and Madison!

Split Pea Soup

Hello! I have another recipe with share with you! Some really yummy Split Pea Soup! I know a lot of you probably don't like it, but it's really so good! Well, here goes! You will need...............

4 cups of Vegetable Broth

12 cup of Water

   1 cup of Dried Lentils

4 cups of Dried Split Peas

1/2 pound up to 1 pound of Diced Carrots
     (optional)
1/2 cups Chopped Green Onions (optional)

1 piece 1-inch Chunk Minced Fresh Ginger

 4-5 cloves, Medium/large, Pressed Garlic

2 teaspoons of Spike All-Purpose seasoning-or really any seasoning you have on hand-we didn't have Spike:)

1 teaspoon Ground Black Pepper-and a 1/2 teaspoon more for sprinkling in the pot when you pour it in.

And you are also going to need a very big pot-we
used our lobster pot:)

So first, pour the broth into the pot and bring that to a boil and then add in all the other ingredients.

Bring to a boil again, stirring almost constantly.

Reduce heat to low and simmer for 2 to 4 hours-until the soup is the texture that you like. Eat now, or freeze for a quick weeknight dinner.

Well, I hope you enjoyed this! Oh, by the way, here is the link to the recipe-my recipe was for 9 servings, but you can type in how many servings you want, and I automatically changes the recipe to fit how many servings! Here's the link-------Split Pea Soup-----------enjoy!

Rocky Mountain High

Hello! I know I said I'd post the snow storm pictures, and I will but right now, I have a song to share:) My mom, dad and I all love to listen to John Denver radio and Mom was listening to it this afternoon and so I decided to share one of my favorites and I'll do more later:) First up..............Rocky Mountain High

He was born in the summer of his 27th year
Comin' home to a place he'd never been before
He left yesterday behind him, you might say he was born again
You might say he found a key for every door

When he first came to the mountains his life was far away
On the road and hangin' by a song
But the string's already broken and he doesn't really care
It keep's changin' fast and it doesn't last for long

But the Colorado rocky mountain high
I've seen it rainin' fire in the sky
The shadow from the starlight is softer than a lullabye
Rocky mountain high

He climbed cathedral mountains, he saw silver clouds below
He saw everything as far as you can see
And they say that he got crazy once and tried to touch the sun
And he lost a friend but he kept his memory

Now he walks in quiet solitude the forest and the streams
Seeking grace in every step he takes
His sight has turned inside him to try and understand
The serenity of a clear blue mountain lake

And the Colorado rocky mountain high
I've seen it rainin' fire in the sky
You can talk to God and listen to the casual reply
  Rocky mountain high

Now his life is full of wonder but his heart still knows some fear
Of a simple thing he can not comprehend
When they try to tear the mountains down to bring in a couple more
More people, more scars upon the land

And the Colorado rocky mountain high
I've seen it rainin' fire in the sky
I know he'd be a poorer man if he never say an eagle fly
  Rocky mountain high

It's the Colorado rocky mountain high
I've seen it rainin' fire in the sky
Friends around the campfire and everybody's high
  Rocky mountain high

Here is a link- it's amazing!!! Rocky Mountain High
I love John Denver

Butterball and Truffle

Hello! I'm back with some more photos of Truffle, my new guinea pig, and Butterball, my brother's hamster-I shared a picture of each of them in my first Weekly Wrap-Up! We'll put Butterball first! This hamster, is definitely worthy of the title-Cutest Hamster Ever Owned by the Masse Family-sorry about that:)

I think this one is pretty cute:) Ignore that bump on Anna's
forehead...............

My friends, you are looking into the face of cuteness
I say, old chap! Let me down! Let me down I say!

Cheerio darling! I seem to be in quite a pickle at the moment,
how about tea at four

Well, now that we have him out of the way, let's move
on, shall we, old bean? (sorry:)

Isn't he gorgeous?? His coat is really dark brown-
like chocolate, which is why we named him Truffle-and the tips of
his fur is coated with teeny spots of copper! It's so pretty!

Mom and I think he looks like a river otter:)

I. love. little. noses.

Well, that's all I have for now, but I will be back later with some more pictures of the snow!

Thanks for looking at my blog!

Weekly Wrap-Up- Shortbread, Snow and Cuteness

Hello everyone! I hope you all enjoyed that first chapter of At Home in Mitford! I really love those books! I'm currently on the fifth book-A New Song-and reading Anna the second book-A Light in the Window and she is loving them!! Anyway, if you have looked through my 100 in 2013 list, you'll see that one of my goals is to do a 'Weekly Wrap-Up' each week for a month! So, here goes! I think I will probably post them sometime on Friday or Saturday-I just needed something to do so I don't sit in bed like I did all day yesterday! (I was sick, I still am a little:P) Anyway, let's get started! (Since this is my first time, I'll be sort of copying Miss Emily from Borrowing Photographs since she is where I got the inspiration from:)

                        This week I have been................................

                          Reading // A New Song // Secret Sisters Volumes 1-6 // Habibi //

Listening to // Disney Songs // John Denver Radio // Elvis Presley Radio //

Enjoying // playing with my new guinea pig // shortbread cookies // the absolute cuteness of my brother's
hamster // the absolute cuteness of O-Boy

Not really enjoying // being sick // one snowstorm after another // the endless noise of my house //

Well, that's pretty much all! Oh, the hamster is Ethan's and his name is Butterball and the guinea pig is mine and his name is Truffle:) More pictures of the snow coming soon! Oh yes, I really do like John Denver and Elvis Presley;)

Thanks for looking at my blog!
