Thanksgiving Hymns

Hello!
I am back with some Thanksgiving Hymns to share with you! I have chosen some of my very favorites and after each song, there is a video of what it sounds like! I hope you enjoy them! Here goes...................

First up....................

                                          Come, Ye Thankful People, Come.
                                                           Written by Henry Alford-1844

                                      Come, ye thankful people, come, Raise the song of harvest home:
                                               All is safely gathered in, Ere the winter storms begin;
                                         God, our Maker, doth provide, For our wants to be supplied:
                                    Come to God's own temple, come, Raise the song of harvest home.

                                      All the world is God's own field, Fruit unto His praise to yield;
                                        Wheat and tares together sown, Unto joy or sorrow grown:
                                      First the blade and then the ear, Then the full corn shall appear:
                                    Lord of harvest, grant that we, Wholesome grain and pure may be.

                               For the Lord our God shall come, And shall take His harvest home;
                                      From His field shall in that day, All of fences purge away;
                                     Give His angels charge at last, In the fire the tares to cast,
                                        But the fruitful ears to store, In His garner ever more.

                                     Even so, Lord, quickly come, To Thy final harvest home;
                                   Gather thou Thy people in, Free from sorrow, free from sin;
                                       There for ever purified, In Thy presence to abide:
                             Come, with all Thine angels, come, Raise the glorious harvest home.
                     (I found this other fourth verse on Wikipedia; it's only slightly different)

                     Then, thou Church triumphant come,Raise the song of harvest home!
                           All be safely gathered in, Free from sorrow, free from sin,
                                 There, for ever purified, In God's garner to abide,
                    Come, then thousand angels, come, Raise the glorious harvest home.

And then here is the video link.......Come, Ye Thankful People, Come.

 And here is then next song.................

                                    Now Thank We all our God
                        Translation from the German "Nun danket alle Gotte"
                       written in 1636 by Martin Rinkart and translated into
                              English in 1858 by Catherine Winkworth.

                       Now thank we all our God, With heart and hands and voices,
                      Who wondrous things hath done, In whom His world rejoices;
                         Who from our mothers' arms, Hath blessed us on our way,
                            With countless gifts of love, And still is ours today.

                      O may this bounteous God, Through all our life be near us,
                        With ever joyful hearts, And blessed peace to cheer us;
                       And keep us in His grace, And guide us when perplexed,
                           And free us from all ills, In this world and the next.

                     All praise and thanks to God, The Father now be given,
                  The Son, and Him who reigns, With them in highest heaven,
                    The One Eternal God, Whom earth and heav'n adore;
                        For thus it was, is now, And shall be ever more.

And here is the last song.....................

                                        Let All Things Now Living.
                            Traditional Welsh melody with text and harmonization
                       by Katherine K. Davis, using the melody of 'The Ash Grove'.

                               Let all things now living, A song of thanksgiving,
                                To God the creator, Triumphantly raise.
                         Who fashion'd and made us, Protected and stay'd us.
                              Who guideth us on to the end of our days.

                             His banners are o'er us, His Light goes before us,
                                   A pillar of fire shining forth in the night,
                         Till shadows have vanish'd and darkness is banish'd,
                              As forward we travel from light into light!

                             His law He enforces, The stars in their courses,
                                  The sun in His orbit, Obediently shine,
                         The hills and the mountains, the rivers and fountains,
                            The deeps of the ocean proclaim Him divine.

                            We too should be voicing, Our love and rejoicing,
                                With glad adoration, A song let us raise,
                           Till all things now living, Unite in thanksgiving,
                            To God in the highest, hosanna and praise!
