The Waltons

Hello! I've been meaning to do this post for a long time but I've never gotten around to it! Since I was little, we've been watching The Waltons every night that we can. If you have never heard of The Waltons-well, let's just say, YOU BETTER CHECK IT OUT!!!!:) It is the best TV series ever! It has 9 seasons and then a special collection.

Summary 

(I got this from Wikipedia) The main story takes place in Walton's Mountain , a fictional town at the foot of a fictitious Jefferson County , Virginia. The time is during the Great Depression and World War II, during the presidency of Franklin Delano Roosevelt. John and Olivia Walton along with John's parents Zebulon "Zeb" and Esther Walton raise their seven children during the Great Depression and World War II. The family's story is narrated at the opening and closing of each episode by middle-aged John-Boy, the oldest boy who becomes a journalist and a novelist. John manages to eke out a living by operating a lumber mill with the help of his father and his sons as they grow older. The family income is augmented by some small-scale farming and John occasionally hunts to put meat on the table. Relatives and stranger occasionally pass by, with whom the family shares its hospitality as they are able. The small community named after their property is also home to folks of various income levels, ranging from the well-to-do Baldwin sisters, two elderly spinsters who distill moonshine that they call "Papa's recipe"; Ike Godsey, postmaster and owner of the general store with his somewhat snobbish wife Corabeth (a Walton cousin); a black couple, Verdie and Harley Foster; Maude Gormley, a sassy octogenarian artist who paints on wood; Flossie Brimmer, a friendly though somewhat gossipy widow who runs a nearby boarding house; and Yancy Tucker, a good-hearted handyman with big plans, but little motivation. 

Characters
                         Richard Thomas plays John Walton Jr. called John-Boy by everyone.  He is played by Richard Thomas in seasons 1-5, guest season 6, and then played by Robert Wightman in season 8-9. He is the oldest of the children and is seventeen in Season One.

Michal Learned plays Olivia Walton through the whole series. She is the best:)

Ralph Waite plays John Walton Sr. through the wholes series. He is so awesome:)

Will Geer plays Zebulon Walton or "Grandpa" from seasons 1-6 and then died over the summer and was not replaced. I'm glad- no one could replace Granpa:)

                                                            Ellen Corby plays Esther Walton or "Grandma" from seasons 1-5 then she suffered from a stroke, returns in the last episode of season 6, remains through season 7, and appears frequently in seasons 8 and 9. She is the best:)

Jon Walmsley plays Jason Walton through the whole series. He loves music and is fifteen years old in Season One.

Judy Norton Taylor plays Mary Ellen Walton through the whole season. She is two years younger than Jason. She becomes a nurse and is the first to marry and have children.

Mary Elizabeth McDonough plays Erin Walton through the whole series. Works as a telephone operator and attends secretarial school.

Eric Scott plays Benjamin "Ben" Walton through the whole series. He is known to have a strong temper and likes to think he's the boss:)

David W. Harper plays Jame Robert "Jim Bob" Walton through the whole series. He loves machinery and his ambition is to become a pilot.

Kami Cotler plays Elizabeth Walton through the whole series. She was only six in Season One! She is so cute:)
